It couldn't have
been a better morning for Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl parade. Temps started
in the upper teens and went into the low 40s in the mountains and near 60 in Denver . Over 800,000
people attended the parade in downtown Denver .
Our focus was on attending the Mari Gras parade in Breckenridge. We went to
Copper Mtn to ski and conditions were great. Very few people on the slopes. At
lunch time, people were eating outside on the tables. We left around 1:30pm to
get ready for the parade which started at 4pm. There were many floats and the
people on them were throwing beads. The parade ended at Main Street Station
where there was music and gumbo . Since it was still early, we went to Copper
Mtn to listen to the end of Moe Dixon's Mardi Gras at JJs. Went we got there
they were dancing on the tables already. It was a fun and long day.
